We followed Rt 4 to Jefferson, Iowa for a visit to the Lincoln Highway Museum. I couldn't find Hugh and Loukie Smith's name in the guest book so maybe they missed this stop.
We asked the fellow at the Museum if he knew of any Model A's in town and he sent us to Jack's Auto Sales. Jack Harbaugh greeted us like old friends and gave us a tour of his collection.
Great fellow! We exchanged Hershey space numbers and will likely see him at our Hershey Chili Shootout.
Jack insisted on digging through his parts until he found a manifold clamp we needed to repair an exhaust leak.
Jack has a nice 31 Model A roadster of course, but his mint original unrestored 31 Lincoln dual cowl phaeton is just unbelievable.
Jack's license collection is complete Iowa from 1911 to present.
We almost missed meeting Jack because we had trouble finding the Lincoln Highway Museum.
Casey's General Stores dominate the gas station/convenient store business in Iowa. When you ask for directions to anywhere the directions always start with "Go to Casey's and turn..." The trouble is there is a Casey's on every other corner!
