Old Cars Are Where You Find Them!

Sioux Falls, South Dakota

August 7, 2006

It was an easy 500 mile drive and we arrived in Sioux Falls about 4 PM.

A few miles out we called the seller and he met us at a travel stop just outside the city. We followed him from there to where Sleeping Beauty was resting.

I should mention a few "details" here that will make the story easier to follow. One, the seller and I have been acquainted many years, and Two, the seller has "many" A's in a warehouse of old cars. He has asked that he not be identified in the story so please don't ask.

The seller had moved Sleeping Beauty from his warehouse to his workshop next door.

I was a bit disappointed, the car looked too good to fit the barn fresh adventure. Obviously it was cleaner than I remembered it from 6 years ago. Oh well, it is a done deal. I had already licensed, titled and insured the car and there was no turning back.

We spent a few hours looking over Sleeping Beauty and the seller's other cars before turning in the rental car and checking in to the motel. The seller gave us a loaner car to use.
